KTM E-Race The EBIKE
The BionX system works intuitively. The system supports you with electrical power which is proportional to the amount of effort you put into pedalling. Depending on the pedalling force of the rider, the system supplies more or less support. A torque sensor in the motor shaft analyses each and every turn of the pedal and calcu- lates the additionally required electrical power of the motor. Your strength and the support of the motor are in an ideal balance so that you can fully enjoy your ride.
The new, extremely light-weight hub motor does not only supply support, but at the same time works as a generator. When applying one of the two brake levers or using one of the four backcharging levels, the motor turns energy into electrical power and thus re- charges the battery while riding. Depending on the conditions of the terrain and a selective use of back charging, the range can be extended by up to 15%.
The increased motor voltage of 48V, the optimised electrotechno- logy, and the magnesium cover panels made it possible to increase effectiveness and therefore range as well as power delivery even more. The newly designed 9-fold premium threaded cogset puts smooth gear changes in practice.
The new 48V high-performance battery offers the best possible energy efficiency. Innovative Li-Mn cells ensure maximum use of range while offering a smaller size and increased capacity. De- pending on the eBike model, various batteries are employed with differing capacities and arrangement positions. The new battery charger is as small as a notebook adapter and can therefore easily be taken along on holiday trips, while it guarantees a fresh supply of power in a very short time.
The eCross is available in 4 different sizes: 43, 48, 53 and 57.
